2008
November: Thursday 25th
Our Guest Speaker at the Monthly General Meeting on Thursday
27th November will be Prof. Peter Reimann from the Faculty of
Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney.
The title of Prof. Reimann’s talk is “Where can I find it on
the web? Media preferences of the net.gen”.
“They grew up with Hotmail accounts, iPods and mobile phones,
and wherever they go, they expect information and communication
on demand. They are people of the Internet generation, who rely
on digital media whether they want to be entertained, to do
research or socialise.
Meeting the expectations of the net.gen is one of the biggest
challenges facing universities. What needs to change? And what
might the future hold?”
There will be time set aside for Questions and Answers.
Come along, bring your friends, and learn where to find
things on the web, and about the net.gen.
